“Singing to YOU on the street that you live”

For “Singing to YOU on the street that you live” 2006 I contacted all of my ex boyfriends and requested to serenade them form outside their bedroom windows. Here I hoped to carry out the ultimate romantic love gesture, and in doing so question whether the serenade has only ever been a performance of a love act not a true act of love.

In this piece I am also interested in gender roles. We are used, traditionally to male Hollywood protagonists committing the ultimate romantic gestures - Are women considered insane when they commit such romantic gestures?
