“How to get over a broken Heart”

In “How to get over a broken Heart” 2006 three men give the viewer direct advice on how to get over a broken heart. At the beginning it is unclear who these men are, what relationship they have with each other and with the young female voice talking to them from behind the camera. However, through the conversations it becomes evident that they are all relatives of the artist (me); my granddad, my uncle and my dad.

Here I attempt to offer an alternative to the love advice we are given in women’s magazines and self help books. Instead of a ‘professional’ female stranger instructing my heart, I turn to my male relatives for the advice, which is needed.
